Classes resumed at The Shorin Center on Tuesday, June 16th, at 6:30 PM. Due to current demand, we are holding a single, all-levels class. We need you to contact us to let us know if you are planning on attending, as we are limiting the class size to provide acceptable distancing measures. If you show up without contacting us, you may not be able to participate, depending on the number attending. If there is more demand, we will go back to two separate sessions.
The class will be held outdoors in the parking lot when the weather permits to maximize distancing measures. Outdoors, masks/face coverings will not be required. Should we go indoors, however, masks/face coverings will be required. So, be prepared for both scenarios to include shoes for indoors and outdoors. Also, be sure to bring water. Hello all--
Considering the current efforts to contain the COVID-19 virus, the Shorin Center has opted to cancel all classes through the end of March. This means that our next class meeting will be April 7th. I know this is a long break, but I encourage you to continue a daily tai chi practice as a means to staying healthy during this crazy time. Of course, all long-term payment packages will be credited for these cancellations. If the weather warms up, I may consider a free, open class in a local park where it is easier to maintain the “social distancing” guidelines. If you would be interested, let me know. I will send out e-mail and Meetup announcements, and post here should I decide to do this. In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you for your continued interest in tai chi, and I pray that you and your loved ones remain well. Russ Welcome to my blog space. I will use this space primarily as a place to share information with my students. Sometimes they will ask me questions, and it will just be easier to answer them here as opposed to taking up class time. For example, one of the key questions I get is, "Do you have a reference video for the form?" My answer is that I currently do not; however, here is a YouTube link to a video by my Si-Bok (kungfu uncle) Nils Klug that pretty much reflects Grandmaster William C.C. Chen's lastest teachings -- https://youtu.be/qwJFctE7hHA. Master Klug may present the form slightly differently than the way it was handed down to me, but it surely is an excellent presentation and will get you in the ballpark! Enjoy!!!
