Yoga Studio Satya Class Schedule CURRENT HOURS: Tuesday Evenings 6:00-6:55 PM Beginners/All Levels Tuesday Evenings 7:00-8:00 PM Intermediate/Advanced (with permission of the instructor) HAVE YOU ALWAYS WANTED TO LEARN TAI CHI? NEW STUDENTS CAN JOIN ANY TIME! Our Beginners/All Levelsclass is for anyone interested in learning about and experiencing the benefits that tai chi has to offer. Tai chi’s slow movements are the trademark of this ancient martial art known for its ability to improve balance, calmness, and relaxation. Our approach to tai chi emphasizes the body mechanics behind the movements. This added emphasis to structure and form enhances the internal energy flow to foster additional fluidity, strength, and rooting. These attributes cross over to enhance daily activities and improve sports performance. Body mechanics also contains powerful qigong movements that lead to improved health and vitality. The focus of this class is on William C.C. Chen's 60-movement Yang-style form, tai chi body mechanics, and qigong. In this class, we focus on laying a solid foundation for your tai chi practice through a progressive study of tai chi principles.
In our Intermediate/Advanced class, we continue refining the 60-movement tai chi form and body mechanics. We also explore the applications of the body mechanics, the sword form, push hands, and the two-person applications form. We focus on Yang Chengfu's 10 Essential Principles, such as using intent instead of strength. Our approach to push hands emphasizes overcoming hardness with softness, developing a rooted structure, and provides insight into tai chi as a sophisticated martial art. The primary goals our push hands is to further develop a calm mind and to add life to the other tai chi practices. Location Yoga Studio Satya:1581 York Rd, Colorado Springs, CO 80918.
